REGISTERING YOUR YOUNG PERSON
We take the care of your child seriously, so ask you to complete a consent form for each child attending our groups (if they’re attending more than one group you only need to do this once): https://warwickbaptists.churchsuite.com/forms/7tac0g6y
Sunday morning groups
AYP! is a group for Year 7-13 that meets every Sunday during worship to help them grow in their faith and build new friendships.
Whilst some sixth formers stay in the group until 18, others are sometimes ready to do something different. To help them grow in their walk with Jesus, we want to encourage them to use their gifts in some capacity — i.e., on the sound/vision desk, playing/singing in the worship band, helping with the children’s work, joining the welcome team… To be clear, they are welcome to remain in AYP! but we don’t want them to fall away if this is no longer meeting their need.
We are always open to launching an older group to help with their development but naturally we need a critical mass to get it started. So at this time, we also want to offer our older teens 1-2-1 mentoring to help them as they wrestle with life and faith. Please chat to us about this if you feel this would be beneficial.
To connect with this group or ask any questions, please email youthwork@warwickbaptists.org.uk (it may take a few days to reply).
FRIDAY YOUTH CLUB
Developing the excellent work of Gateway 2 Gaming (G2G), in 2024 we relaunched our youth group as CATALYST YOUTH. Run by Joey and Lindsey, they meet once a month in various places, but often in our church hall on Gerrard Street. All young people are welcome to come along and invite their friends too! If you’ve not come to one of our youth groups already, please complete a consent form. Email youthwork@warwickbaptists.org.uk to find out about where the latest meeting is being held.
Developing our youth work
As a church, we are pleased to partner with Thrive Youth Ministries who are supporting us in developing our youth work for the 21st century. We have a small group (Thrive Manifesto Coordinating Group) who help the fellowship focused on this as a priority. We know this involves the whole church family and so seek to get people involved in praying, participating and/or promoting each event that we’ve put on to help our young people invite their not-yet-believing friends.
Recently, we’ve run a film night, games night and used the Thrive Youth bus as ways of building relationships. All have been really positively received by the young people and their friends. We are keen all these events are shaped by our young people so we are always open to hearing new ideas or feedback.
Base Camp
As part of supporting our young people, we take part in Thrive’s annual Base Camp weekend away (Jan) and their one day local version (Sept). Those who have gone have always been encouraged in their faith and boyd by seeing the number of other young people from other churches around Warwickshire.
