Green and fair group

Green and fair group

This group has been set up to help the church respond to environmental and fair-trade issues, focusing on what we can do as a church community, both locally and nationally, as well as raising awareness about the devastating impact of climate change. We want the church to make a positive environmental impact in Warwick and beyond, abiding by the principle that “although we can’t all do everything, everyone can do something”.

Who are we?
We are a varied group in terms of ages and with interests such as: recycling; fair-trade products; sustainable food and clothing choices; enjoying and looking after the natural world; and having a knowledge of the flora and fauna in our local environment. We are open to others joining the group, and we welcome people’s input. We all share a conviction that we need to be proactive in putting our stewardship responsibilities for God’s creation into action, looking after the beautiful world we have been given by God

Eco Church Award
The Green and Fair Group are helping the church work towards an ‘Eco Church Award’ as part of a scheme organised by the Christian organisation ‘A Rocha’. This was set up to help churches demonstrate that the gospel is good news for God’s earth and we share their vision that to care for creation is an integral part of loving our neighbour and following God faithfully.
